The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs of France is organising the Regional competition for
"Jeune Commis Rôtisseur" at the Campus des Métiers in ST GERMAIN de LUSIGNAN (17100) on the 6th April, as from 9:00 am.
The « Jeunes Commis Rôtisseurs » must cook a starter, main course and dessert using local produce, which will then be judged by a professional jury and a jury made up of amateur gourmets. The winner will then go through to the final in Paris.
The dishes will be judged in the afternoon, and then there will be a prize-giving ceremony and cocktails.
The Jeunes Commis Rôtisseurs will enjoy the highest quality facilities. The Campus des Métiers in ST GERMAIN de LUSIGNAN (17100) trains hundreds of young cooks, bakers, caterers, pastry chefs and waiters every year, as well mechanics, joiners and many others!
The students have superb equiment, such as touch-activated computers. They also have the solid support of their teachers, who are dedicated to preparing them for their future career.
A big thank-you to Mr THAUNAY, Director of the Campus, for allowing us to hold the competition on the premises. We were particularly impressed by his enthusiam and devotion to his profession of training young people in their chosen trade.
We thank Mr. David BRET, "Meilleur Ouvrier - Best Worker" in France. He supervised the contestants in the kitchen, and gave much of his time to help us! Thank you!
